The benefits of Ambilight have been proven by independent academic research. In 2004, a large majority of viewers of a Dutch study by the technical University, Eindhoven, felt Ambilight intensified their experience and involved them more in what they'd watched. In 2005, The Lighting Research Centre of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York confirmed Ambilight reduced eyestrain/fatigue and increased visual comfort, compared to normal TV. Finally in 2007, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich, found Ambilight less taxing on the brain — increasing relaxation and enabling more emotional involvement.

Large volume bass speaker boxes
What about the bass? Bass frequencies are generated in the back of the Flat TV by two powerful sub-woofers. Unique mid-range reflectors project the sound forwards and sideways for clarity and special imaging. The speaker grills are eliminated, which allows unrestricted bass airflow.
